Claudian Carpenter, 70, of Brantley Road Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020, at Carlsbad Medical Center Carlsbad, New Mexico surrounded by her family. Claudian was born on September 9, 1949, in Vaughn, New Mexico to Fred and Lillie Simmons.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Jones officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of making arrangements.
Claudian graduated from Carlsbad High School in the class of 1967. While in school, she met the love of her life, Dale Carpenter, and they got married on December 14, 1968, in Carlsbad, NM. They built a strong legacy together, and celebrated their fifty first wedding anniversary last year. Claudian enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, and dancing in her free time. Her famous saying, that imbodied her fully, was “You don’t mess with my honey, my money, or my kids”! Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished spending every moment with them. Claudian will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Claudian was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Simmons; and mother, Lillie Campbell Simmons.
Claudian is survived by her husband, Dale Carpenter of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Melissa Mager of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Cynthia Carpenter of Carlsbad, NM; six grandchildren: Jason Rice, Kameron Mager, Tyler Rice, Alexis Mager, Stormy Carpenter, and Kc Carpenter; brother, Walter Jeter and wife, Roxie of Denver, CO; sister, Rose Bolen of Hope, NM; and several nieces and nephews.
