William L. "Bill" Brooks

William L. “Bill” Brooks, 92, former resident, passed away March 21, 2023 in Clovis, New Mexico. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Doug Brooks officiating. 

Bill was born April 22, 1930 in Weatherford, Texas to John and Lavina (Covington) Brooks. He served his country in the US Navy.  Bill married Mary L. Entrekin July 14, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  They moved to Carlsbad in 1965.  Bill worked for TIPCO 15 years and later worked for the railroad 20 years before retiring. He was a long-time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; 6 sisters and one brother.

Survivors are his wife, Mary L. Brooks; sons: Mark Brooks and wife, Sharene, Doug Brooks and wife, Latriece, Rick Brooks and wife, Kathleen; daughter, Brenda Fry and husband, Richard; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
