William ""Cortez"" Johnson

William Cortez Johnson was born on August 20, 1930 in Gainesville, Texas to John Morgan Johnson and Radie Pearl Johnson. He passed away on December 22, 2009 at Landsun Health Service Center surrounded by those who dearly loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Johnnie Pearl Johnson. He is survived by his wife of the family home, Maxine Johnson, daughters, Becky Johnson and Brenda Dugas and son-in-law, Bob Dugas, grandson, William Dugas, granddaughter, Amanda Dugas, all of Carlsbad. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Don Johnson and wife, Peggy, of Hobbs, Gerald Johnson and wife, Virginia, of Durango, Colorado, and Fred Johnson and wife, Carol, of Eunice, and one sister, Margie Ross, of Carlsbad. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Landsun Caring Hands Fund. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2009, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 28, 2009, 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church, 1502 W. Mermod, with Pastor Brad Coates officiating. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
