Vicki Walker

Vicki D. Walker, 60, of Grand Junction, passed away at her home on June 17, 2021. She was a CNA caregiver. Vicki was born on August 3, 1960, in Hobbs, New Mexico; the daughter of Bill and Nadean (Bow) Jordan. She spent her childhood in Lovington, Alamogordo, and Carlsbad, New Mexico. After graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1978, Vicki attended Carlsbad Beauty College and received her certification after two years. She married James Mounsey in Grand Junction, where she has resided for the last 24 years. Sadly, James precedes her in death. Vicki was a member of the First Assemblies of God Church. In her free time, she enjoyed hiking and rock collecting. It was often her way to find heart shaped rocks, and other objects, in nature and collect them. She was also a music lover, particularly the Beatles and Stevie Ray Vaughn, one of her favorite sayings being, “All you need is love”. Vicki is survived by her parents, Bill and Nadean Jordan of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sons, Thomas Wilson and wife, Laci of Lubbock, Texas, Anthony Wilson, Matthew Walker and Timothy Walker, all of Grand Junction; sister, Terri Vaughan; and husband, Greg and two grandchildren, Dalan and Ian Wilson. Her younger brother, Billy Jordan, precedes her in death. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
