Trine S. Rodriquez

Trine S. Rodriquez, longtime resident of Loving, NM, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. 

Visitation will be at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 followed by a Vigil at 6:00 PM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating.  Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Trine worked as an underground miner at different potash mines and retired after working for 30 years.  Trine was a loving, generous, hard-working, humble man.  He was married to his wife Carolina for 70 years and had 10 children.  

In his younger years, Trine was a City Council Member and active in the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Grace Church in Loving.  Trine was a devoted Catholic and attended church every Sunday until his health declined.  Trine and his wife Carolina loved to go dancing, go to the casino, and find a reason to make his famous asado, drinks his Coors, and have a party at the family home.    

Trine loved traveling in the summer with family.  He loved driving to California to visit family and hitting up the casino, hoping to hit it big playing at the card table.  He would take his children camping at Bonita Lake in Ruidoso and always made sure to go to Lincoln County for the Billy the Kid exhibits.  Trine often would take his family to his birthplace, Fort Davis, TX.  They traveled in their blue station wagon and when arriving, his family members would say “Here comes Trine with all his kids.”  He loved watching Bonanza and always complained he had already seen that episode.  Trine loved him some football, hoping all his numbers would hit on Sunday or Monday.  

Trine is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carolina; five sons: Trine Jr., Frank Sr., Arturo, Cornelio, and Kenny; five daughters: Elsa Rodriquez, Patsy Hinojos, husband Albert, Anna Lara, husband Felipe, Dora Ledbetter, husband Arlie, and Monica Rubio, husband Rollie; one brother, Tony Ramirez,  and three sisters, Lupe, Terry, and Enedina.  Trine had 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy; sister, Lucy; 2 granddaughters: Yvonne Rodriquez and Lena Corrine Rodriquez, and great-grandson Jedaiah Ford.

Pallbearers are Cornelio Rodriquez, Gordo Rubio, Anthony Lara, CJ Rodriquez, Patrick Hinojos, Easton Rodriquez, John Garza, and Evan Sanchez.
