Trapper James Cearley

Trapper James Cearley, 19, passed away on June 8, 2026 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Services will be held in Oklahoma at a later date.

Trapper was born May 4, 2007 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and raised in Kiowa, Oklahoma. He loved motorcycles and cars of any kind. Trapper enjoyed music, fishing, camping and video games. He never turned down the opportunity to be with his family. Trapper especially liked watching the sun rise and made every effort to watch as often as he could.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Warren and June McIntosh, Danny Cearley, Tatina and Anthony Burnell and uncle, Tory Lafayette Burnell.

Trapper is survived by his parents, Jim and Sandy Cearley; mother, Tamara Ogden-Cearley; great grandmother, Bobbie Cearley; fiancé, Haylee Anglin; sister, Talinda Mosley and husband, Joshua; nephew, Calvin James Mosley; aunts and uncles: Laramy and Kassi Freeze, Patrick and Gabi Duff, Kathleen Simpson and husband, Abran Lopez and Jonathan Hartsock; as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
