Toni Jane Hunt, 70, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at her Carlsbad home with her family by her side. 

Toni was born December 22, 1953 in Artesia NM. She was a proud Artesia Bulldog. 

Toni graduated from NMSU Las Cruces to become an RN nurse. She served in the Army for 3 years as an Army nurse. She had a career in nursing for over 32 years. 

Toni married Mark Hunt on May 25th in 1979. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with four children: Anna, Miriam, Leah and Jonathan, 9 grandchildren: Brailee, Madison, Davin, Hannah, Justin, Landon, Noah, Ella, Abbigale, and 2 great grandchildren: Sawyer and Hayden. Toni’s hobbies included sewing, solitaire, dominoes. She loved watching NFL games, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Her achievements include serving the Army and graduating college to become a nurse. But she would say that her relationship with the Lord and God’s gifts of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are her greatest achievements. 

Toni is survived by her children: Anna, Miriam, Leah, and Jonathan, 8 grandchildren: Brailee, Madison, Hannah, Justin, Landon, Noah, Ella, Abbigale, and 2 great grandchildren: Sawyer and Hayden, and many many more family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark and her grandson, Davin. 

Toni will especially be remembered for her faith in her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and her fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone she met. 

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Toni’s life on Thursday, January 16, 2025, 1:00 PM, at Oasis Church, Carlsbad, NM.
