Tomas Hernandez Elizondo, 68, of Trinadad, CO passed away on November 7, 2023, at his home. Tomas was born on October 16, 1955, to Roque and Evarista Elizondo in Carlsbad, NM.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, November 13, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Landmark Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis McKinley officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Catarina Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.

Tomas grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He dedicated most of his life to his work as a certified welder and heavy equipment operator. He was known for his highly skilled welding, his hard work ethic, and calm demeanor. You could always find him in his shop immersed in his projects, bringing him immense joy. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting with his sons and brothers, spending quality time with his grandchildren while camping and fishing. Above all, his greatest joy was sharing moments with his lovely wife, Josephine. We consider ourselves immeasurably blessed to have had him as the heartbeat of our family. From this moment on, he will forever remain the continuous pulse that resonates within us. Soar high, Sprocket.

Tomas was preceded in death by his father, Roque Elizondo; and mother, Evarista (Hernandez) Elizondo.

Tomas is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Elizondo of Trinadad, CO; six children: Roque Elizondo and wife, Angela of Lyman, WY; Jessica Doubrava and husband, Mike of Denver, CO; Celina Soto and husband, Timothy of Las Vegas, NV; Fred Sing and wife, Angela of Lyman, WY; Melissa Sing of Las Vegas, NV; and Michael Sing of Trinadad, CO; twenty-one grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five siblings: Tony Elizondo and wife, Norma of Moriarty, NM; Albert Elizondo and wife, Alma of Carlsbad, NM; George Elizondo and wife, Donna of Alamogordo, NM; Danny Elizondo of Lovington, NM; and Angie Elizondo of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
