Tom Holden

Tom Holden, 64 of Carlsbad, NM died August 13, 2021 in an El Paso hospital.

Although everyone knew him as “Tom” or “Baldy”, his name was Nelson Thomas Holden, Jr. He was born February 7, 1957 in England where his father was stationed in the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise; three sons: Thomas Matthew, William Spencer, Christopher Lee; a sister, Suzanne Holden Horton; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Nelson Thomas Holden, Sr. and Frances Holley Holden and a sister, Kathy Love.

Tom and Denise have made Carlsbad their home for only 4 years, but in that short time he made many friends. He never met a stranger. You could always count on him for a quick joke or funny story. A man of many talents, Tom was a mechanic, musician, maintenance man and even appeared in the movie “Year One” with Jack Black. Often seen around town riding his bicycle with its home made wagon attached, he was always on the go while he was healthy. Tom fought a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his life, he touched many hearts and he will be missed by those who loved him.

Funeral services will be a private family ceremony.
