Timothy C. "Tim" Thacker

October 23, 1969 — September 23, 2025

Timothy C. “Tim” Thacker, 55, of Hamilton Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away September 23, 2025 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Loving Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Davis officiating. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Tim was born October 23, 1969 in San Diego, California, to Gary Luster Thacker and Sherron Charlene Thacker-Brockman. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1988. Tim served his country in the U.S. Army. He later received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Ashley University, was Master Trainer Certified, Master Evaluator Certified, and numerous certificates in safety training. Tim loved to learn and never stopped taking classes online, if it caught his interest, he would take classes for it. Tim started working young, whether it was on a paper route, roofing part-time, or mowing lawns, what ever he could do to earn a little money and stay busy.

Tim married the love of his life, Kathy Campbell March 23rd, 2002 in Carlsbad. Throughout Tim’s life, he has worked in construction, oilfield, mines, and many other fields until he found his passion for Safety Training. He wanted to make sure people made it home safely to their families. Above all this, Tim had a heart and soul on fire for God. Tim became a Deacon of Happy Valley in 2018, stepped into the role of Associate Pastor in 2019, was ordained into the ministry in 2020 and became the Pastor of Loving Baptist in January of 2024. Tim strived to tell everyone about his Lord and Savior and made sure everyone knew he loved Jesus Christ. He made sure to tell everyone that the best way to share Jesus with others is through their testimony so don’t ever be afraid to share it. He couldn’t wait to retire so he could spend all his time in ministry.

Tim loved his family and loved spending time with them. He wanted to make sure to teach them about God and how to be independent and not rely on someone else to take care of them. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, wood working (building things), and being a goofball. His theory in life was, “If you can’t have fun in life, why are you here.” Tim loved his grandchildren very much and loved taking them to church and teaching them about God.

Tim was preceded in death by his father Gary Luster Thacker and son Colton Alan Thacker.

Tim is survived by his wife Kathy Thacker; daughter Kissandra Thacker-Riggs; son Timmy Thacker and girlfriend Levi Bruno; Mother Sherron Brockman; Grandchildren O’Ryan Riggs, Zachary “Logan” Hasheme, and Persephone Hasheme; Brother Gary Thacker and wife Jennifer; Sister Rochelle “Shelly” VanDyne and husband Gary; Brother Tommy Brockman; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law Danny & Kristy Campbell; Brother-In-Law Daniel Campbell and wife Mattie; Sister-In-Law Christina Spencer and husband Dan; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Tim will be dearly missed by all that knew him and his legacy will live on through all those he taught and shared God’s love with.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”

In lieu of flowers, your donations will be greatly appreciated to go to Christian Organizations to further God’s Kingdom.

 Thank you and God Bless!
