Thomas Johnson

Tommy was a resident of the Hanover/Silver City area for 33 years. Prior to moving to Silver City his childhood was spent in Carlsbad, NM where he Graduated from Carlsbad High School 1974 and went on to work at the Potash Mines as an Electrician. After moving to Silver City, he continued working as an Electrician for Freeport McMoran at the CHINO Copper Mines and Smelter.  After leaving the mines he worked for GVE. He was a hard worker and could do just about anything. He taught many life lessons, and had a positive impact on everyone around him. While living in Silver City, he started doing outfitting as a side job and favorite hobby. He loved the beauty of the mountains that surrounded him. He truly loved the outdoors, and would pack anyone into the Gila for whatever reason, hunting, fishing, camping, or just sightseeing. He always had a passion for softball, and was super good at it.  He played right up until he became ill.  Tommy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
