Steve E. Menasco

Steve E. Menasco, 54, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 18, 2022. Steve was born on August 2, 1967, in Carlsbad, NM to Johnny Menasco and Martha (Caldwell) Menasco.

Steve moved with his family at a young age to Wyoming and called that home for many years. He enjoyed coming back to Carlsbad to visit his grandparnets for the summers.

He graduated high school from Green River High School in Green River, Wyoming in 1985. He then attended Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming and received his Automotive Technology Degree in January 1987.

He was a mechanic that worked many jobs throughout Wyoming, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. He later relocated back to New Mexico when his dad became ill. He worked as a field mechanic for several oilfield companies throughout the area, and he loved his job. He was always eager to help hi sbuddies out when they got in a bind in the field. And he loved passing that knowledge down to his son Robbie, giving him the tools to be a successful mechanic in his field.

Steve loved the mountains and rivers of Wyoming, and spent a lot of his youth hunting, fishing, and camping out with family and friends.

He has requested no services, and his ashes will be spread at his favorite camping spot in the Uinta Mountains, the same spot he released his dad’s ashes.

Steve was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan, and he loved his Oakland  (Las Vegas) Raiders, win or lose.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Menasco; paternal grandparents, Rovert and Flossie Menasco; and his maternal grandparents, Herbert and Norma Caldwell.

He is survived by his son, Robert Menasco and wife, Cambria of Cheyenne, Wyoming; mother, Martha Menasco of Arkansas; sister, Jeama Bowers and husband, Keith of Arkansas; uncle, Ed Menasco of Carlsbad, NM; previous wife, Dawnell Menasco and her family of Carlsbad, NM; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved, and who loved him dearly.

Steve left us too soon, he was very loved, and he will be very missed.
