Obituary Serapio Parraz, 64, of W. Ash Street, Loving, NM, passed away January 5, 2021 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 3 PM 6 PM, Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving. Visitation is limited and facial coverings are required at all services. A private Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. The Mass will be live-streamed and can be viewed at 10:00 AM MST, Monday, January 11, 2021 by clicking here.Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery. Serapio was born August 25, 1956 in Loving, NM. He graduated from Redwood High School in Visalia, CA in 1974 where he played football, wrestling and track and field. Serapio was a member of the undefeated Valley Football Championship Team of 1973. He also won the Ranger of the Year award that same year. Serapio graduated with an Associates Degree from the College of the Sequoias where he was on the track and field team. He worked as a contractor for several years before returning to Loving in 1994. Serapio has worked for the Loving Municipal School District over 20 years. He was the assistant Track and Field Coach at Loving for many years, which was his true passion. Serapio was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, serving on the parish council and also served as Village of Loving Councilman. He was adored by his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by them. He was preceded in death by his parents: Serapio Parraz, Sr. and Lidia Martinez;step-father, Eulogio Fernandez; sisters: Tina Mendoza, Eustolia Hernandez; brother, Frank Parraz; nephew: Gene Fernandez, Jr.; sons: Ronnie Lujan and Joshua Castro; and his dog, Vanilla Neller, who he loved very much and took greatcare of. Survivors are his wife, Alicia Parraz; children: Justin W. Parraz and wife, Cristal, Joel W. Parraz, Kiki Lujan and wife, Anna, Alexandria Lobato and husband, Julio and Anthony Lujan; grandchildren: Justin V. Parraz, Joseph M. Parraz, Kysiah Lujan, Kalob Lujan, Amaya Lujan, Julio Lobato, Jr., Elijah Lobato and Aryana Lobato; siblings: Anna Saldana, Maria Lopez, Willie Vasquez, Harvey Fernandez, Gene Fernandez, Victoria Fernandez and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Justin Parraz, Joel Parraz, Kiki Lujan, Julio Lobato, Pete Estrada and Carlos Martinez.
