Rosa Maria Fernandez

Rosa Maria Fernandez, age 75, of Loving, New Mexico, passed away on May 14, 2024 in her home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday, May 20, 2024 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, NM, followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM.   Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating.  Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM.  Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Rosa was born on April 27, 1949, in Delicias Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Mr. Fernandez at a young age and started her family, becoming a homemaker. In 1993, the whole family moved to Loving, NM. Rosa loved to play loteria, cards, and loved to cook. She was famous for her RUM CAKES! Rosa also enjoyed dancing and having her whole family around.

She was a very strong and happy woman. Her smile would light up the whole place. She will be truly missed.

Rosa Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Bernardo Fernandez; her parents: Alfredo Salas Cordero and Aurora Moriel Fierro; daughter-in-law, Angelica Fernandez; grandchild, Mateo Silva, and 5 siblings.

She is survived by her children: Ivonne Fernandez of El Paso, TX; Bernardo Fernandez, Jr. of Hobbs, NM; Claudia Fernandez and husband, Oliver of Jal, NM; Anabel Dominguez and husband, James of Loving, NM; Francisco Fernandez and girlfriend, Maribel of Otis, NM; Brenda Armendariz and husband, Rolando of Carlsbad, NM; Melissa Cervantes and husband, Alfonso of Jal, NM; Mario Fernandez and wife, Marcela of Loving, NM; Fatima Fernandez and husband, Alejandro of Carlsbad, NM; and Diego Fernandez and wife, Yummaira of Loving, NM. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 4 siblings.

Her family would like to thank Lakeview Christian Home for their wonderful services. These people were patient, caring, and very helpful. They were great!

Pallbearers will be Kiko Fernandez, Mario Fernandez, Diego Fernandez, Lalito Fernandez, Jaimito Dominguez, Luis Armendariz, Jorge Rodriguez, and Oliver Rocha.
