Rosa May Jump, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away on April 5, in Carlsbad, NM. She was born to Tollie and Lucille Crabb on May 1, 1929, in Carlsbad, NM. Rosa was one of seven children, having four brothers and two sisters.

On April 7, 1947, Rosa married Frank S. Jump in Carlsbad, NM. They were blessed with two children: Linda, born in July 1948, and Roger, born in January 1956, both in Carlsbad. Rosa was dedicated to her family, cherishing moments spent together, spending time in the yard, working on her many projects and cooking her favorite meals, often requested by her children and grandchildren.

Rosa enjoyed baseball, particularly her favorite team, the New York Yankees. She enjoyed watching and listening to games. Her favorite meal of the day was breakfast, and a slice of pecan pie as her favorite treat. Willie Nelson was her favorite musical artist and she had fond memories of attending Willie’s 4th of July picnic in Austin, TX with both Linda and Roger, sitting through the rain while listening to her favorite music.

Survived by her sister, Joann of Peoria, AZ, and brothers Bill Crabb and wife Shirley, Robert and wife Trudy Crabb, Charles and wife Alma Crabb, and Walter Crabb, all of Carlsbad, NM; daughter Linda Bibby of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter Lisa and husband Drew McAvoy of Carlsbad, NM; grandson Brian Bibby and wife Robin of McKinney, TX; great-grandchildren Michael and wife Megan Proctor of Carlsbad, NM, Tyler Proctor of Denver, CO; Dru McAvoy, McKenzie McAvoy, both of Carlsbad, NM; Blake Bibby of Denton, TX; and Burke Bibby of McKinney, TX; great-great-grandchildren Mason and Madison Proctor of Carlsbad, NM.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Roger, and sister Irene Dorey. Rosa May Jump will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her love, warmth, and dedication to family.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
