Ronnie Lee Davis

Ronnie Lee Davis, 74, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on October 10, 2026, in Kentucky, where he had relocated to be near his daughter and family. Born February 10, 1952, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Ronnie was the son of Lee Jefferson Davis Jr. and June Lynette Davis. He graduated from Carlsbad High School and earned a technical degree. He devoted more than 20 years of his working life to IMC Potash Mining Corporation as a diesel mechanic before becoming disabled at age 44. Ronnie was an intelligent, well-read, generous, and forgiving man, with an unmistakable sense of humor and a genuinely good heart. A spiritual man with a strong moral compass, he believed in kindness and forgiveness and had an extraordinary affection for children and animals.

His interests were as varied as his curiosity. Ronnie loved aquariums and salt water fish, music, building and working on computers, science-fiction books, and movies. His collection of colorful Hawaiian shirts was legendary, and he wore them proudly for nearly every occasion. Anyone fortunate enough to take Ronnie to dinner knew that surf and turf, followed by dessert, was likely to appear on the check. Above all, Ronnie loved his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his children and grandchildren, hearing about their accomplishments, sharing their adventures, and celebrating the lives they were building. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Maribell Briggs Davis, whom he married in 1970 and who passed away in 1994. His sister, Diana Davis, passed away on November 1, 2026.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Deene Bridges Davis, with whom he celebrated ten years of marriage in April 2026; his daughter, Charlotte Lynette Wright and her husband, Marty; his sons, Eric Lee Davis and his wife, Nikki, and Aaron Michael Davis and his partner, Tabatha Jones. He is also survived by his three stepsons, Kelly, Robert, and Jeffry; his six grandchildren, Jason, Alana, Ryder, Zoe, Lyla, and Kayden; and his eight step-grandchildren, Kylie, Kace, Kimberly, Dakota, Kyla, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jewal. Ronnie was also blessed with four great-grandsons, Apollo, Agustus, Abraham, and Angelo, the sons of his grandson Jason. His surviving siblings are Linda Spinello, Steve Davis, and Laurie Esquivel. During his final months, Ronnie was lovingly cared for by his daughter Charlotte and son-in-law Marty, with the wishes, love, and prayers of his family surrounding him.

Ronnie will be remembered for his generous spirit, his quick humor, his love of family, and the simple joy he found in the people and things he loved. A celebration of Ronnie's life will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Cremation has taken place. His Hawaiian shirts may be quiet now, but the laughter, kindness, and love he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
