Obituary Roberto Rob Mata, 46, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Hobbs, New Mexico. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 2:30 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manuel Cano officiating. Robert was taken from us way to soon. He was a man who had passion for art, poetry and tattooing. He was well known for his kindness and his tattooing, but will always be remembered as a great friend. He was a mender and listener to those in need. He never turned his back on those that needed a shoulder to lean on. He had a heart of gold. He loved to put others first before himself. He was such a respectful man. He was highly intelligent, a man that loved to learn, Preach and teach. But most of all he loved, adored and cherished the time he spent with his family. Family to him was everything. His high energy his laughter and crazy character will surely be missed. Denton- Wood Funeral Home is in charge pf the arrangements. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are brothers: Steve Mata and wife Marlene, Tony Zapata and wife Ann; sisters: Teresa Flowers, Mary Ann Lozano; nieces: DaNaye Mata, DaRahlyin Mata, Fernadine Mata, Ashley Lozano, Amanda Lozano, Jennifer Lozano and Anastacia Jones; nephews: Darren Mata, Adrian Lozano, Arelio Lozano, Anthony Zapata, Mark Flowers and Charlie Flowers and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers are Darren Mata, Anthony Zapata, Charlie Flowers, Julio Leija, Ralph Herrera, Sonny Montejano. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Rodriguez, Richie Jimenez, Jeremy Clifford, Patrick Rascon, Lupe Castillo and Jose Madina.
