Robert N. Straight

Obituary Robert N (Bob) Straight, 74, of Carlsbad NM, formerly of Belmont Ohio entered into rest Friday, June 7, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born March 8th, 1945 in Barnesville Ohio a son of the late Lester and Ruth (Dunn) Straight. Bob served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War where he received two purple hearts and a bronze star. He was a proud active Master Mason of Friendship Lodge #89 Barnesville Ohio, and a 32nd Degree Manson with The Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Cambridge Ohio. He had many occupations over his life from certified master gunsmith, locksmith to city maintenance, owner of Straight Stop Country Store. He spent most of his life as a heavy equipment operator of which the last ten years were with B & R Trucking and Rockstar Packing LLC. Surviving are his sister Deb Burkhart of Ohio, Sons: Robert (Sherry) Carney and Darrin (Anita) Straight both of Ohio. Grand children Josh (Patience) Kinney of Virginia, Rebecca (Levi) Trull of Oklahoma, Abby (Cory) Bishop of Ohio, seven great grandchildren and 2 nieces. Friends: Trey and crew from B&R Trucking, Dale Johnson and crew from Rockstar Packing LLC. Most of all his loving extended family: Kim Bable, Severa (Nina) Sanchez & Pedro Ruiz and Richard Campos. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his wife Deborah Straight, a brother Clarence Straight and brother-in-law Gene Burkhart. Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday June 15th 2019 at Denton Wood Funeral Home Carlsbad NM with Masonic Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery with full Masonic and Military Honors.
