Richard Terrell McBee

Richard Terrell McBee was born on December 4, 1970. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 17, 2026, surrounded by his close loved ones.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Landmark Baptist Church. Denton- Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Helen McBee.

He is survived by his father, Terrell McBee of Carlsbad; his wife of 26 years, Jenny McBee of Carlsbad; his son, Rance McBee of Carlsbad; and his daughter, Melody McBee of Carlsbad. He is also survived by his sisters: Becky Medley (John Medley) of Carlsbad and Roxanne Abshire of Texas; his sisters-in-law, Renda Bowen (Bill Bowen) of Roswell and Christy Monteil (Johnny Monteil) of Portales; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard deeply loved his wife and children, and his family was always the center of his life. He enjoyed rebuilding cars and motorcycles – even if he never quite finished most of them – and he took pride in everything he worked on. Richard also loved researching a wide range of topics online, always curious and eager to learn something new. He loved and could grow almost any kind of vegetable or flower.

Richard was known for having strong opinions and a discerning eye, which kept his circles small but meaningful. He was deeply loved and will be missed until the day we see him again.
