Richard was born on Thursday March 5, 1936 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Nellie (Tigh) Adamson. He joined the Air Force in 1953 and served one enlistment, making many friends and wonderful memories along the way. Richard worked in the sheet metal industry for Olsen Brothers Sheet Metal in Omaha Nebraska for over 30 years. He loved his work and woke up every morning excited to get on the job. He moved to Carlsbad in 1993 with his family after retiring from the job he loved. Rich was a huge fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers Football team. He never missed a game. He enjoyed attending church at First Presbyterian and was very involved with the life of the church serving as both a Deacon and an Elder for many years. He was at his happiest when he was able to help prepare for pot-luck dinners at the church. He also loved tending his gardens and growing all sorts of plants. The biggest joy of his life was any time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. His grandchildren were the center of his universe. GO BIG RED!!!
