Renee Munsel

Renee I. Munsel died peacefully, surrounded by friends and family on December 31, 2025, in Perryton Tx.

Renee, a resident of Carlsbad, was born in a Japanese internment camp in the Dutch East Indies on September 22, 1942. She traveled the world during her lifetime but settled in the southern United States where she met and lived with her life-long companion Sandra Bailey. They enjoyed a modest and happy life for many years full of laughter and friendship.

She is survived by 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 sister, as well as her extended family in the United States and Holland.

In the later years of her life, she settled in Carlsbad, where she tended to numerous elderly residents throughout the years ensuring they could remain in their homes as long as possible until it was time for their passing. She was often seen around town doing necessary yet “odd” jobs that were often required in her duties, and was always accompanied by her loyal dog, Chester.

Cremation has already taken place. She will be laid to rest in the Beeman family plot at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.
