Rebecca "Becky" Johnson

Obituary Rebecca Lou Johnson, affectionately known as Becky by all who loved her, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11am, also at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, and will be officiated by her Pastor, Brad Coates of Carlsbad First Assembly of God. Becky was born on August 13, 1959 to William Cortez and Maxine Johnson in Odessa, Texas. Becky and her family lived in Bay City, TX and Carlsbad, NM for much of Beckys formidable years and she graduated from Carlsbad High School on May 23, 1977. Prior to graduating she was installed as the Worthy Advisor in the International Order of Rainbows on January 9, 1977. Becky was well known in the community for her many years of service in the banking industry. She began her career at American Bank in Carlsbad and ended her career at Western Commerce Bank when she was just 38 years old due to her physical disabilities. She was loved for her infectious spirit and laughter. You could almost bet that if Becky was even laughing or snickering a little bit, a belly laugh by all in the room would soon be following. One of her greatest loves, joys, and passions was her love for family both near and far. Becky was proceeded in death by her loving parents, William C. and Maxine Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Brenda, and brother-in-law, Robert Bob Dugas, niece, Amanda Dugas, and nephew, William Bill J.
