Obituary RC Wallace, 85, of College Lane Hobbs, New Mexico peacefully passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the BeeHive Home in Hobbs, New Mexico. RC was born on March 21, 1935, in Winnsboro, TX to Rufus and Alice Wallace. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service is scheduled to follow at 1:00 PM Monday, August 31, 2020, at Carlsbad Cemetery Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. RC joined the US Marine Core several years after high school, and served for three years, including active service during the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal. He later met and married Dessa Mitchell on November 19, 1971, in Roswell, NM. RC worked his whole life in the oilfield as a tool pusher in and around Odessa, Andrews, and Carlsbad. He enjoyed fishing, and showing off his amazing catches. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. RC was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Wallace; mother, Alice Wallace; wife, Dessa Mae Wallace; son, Robert Wallace; son, Bill Wallace; brother, Donald Wallace; sister, Florine Elliott; and sister, Daris Brown. RC is survived by his son, Ronnie Wallace and wife, Helen of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Jody Mullins and husband, Ray of Suwanee, GA; daughter-in-law, Debra Wallace of Fort Worth, TX; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wallace of Lubbock, TX; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
