Pete O. Gonzalez

Pete O. Gonzalez 60, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on October 22, 2026, in Artesia, New Mexico. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2026, at Santa Catarina Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pete was born on January 28, 1966, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Alredo and Henriqueta (Ortiz) Gonzalez. He loved playing the guitar and jamming out like a rockstar. Pete radiated stardust. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Henriqueta Gonzalez and sisters Lilly Contreras and Bertha Melendrez. He is survived by sisters Sarah Alvers and Carol Vallejo; brother, Lorenzo Gonzalez and wife, Jenny, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So, He put His arms around you and whispered, “Come to me”. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
