Perry Kiser

February 8, 1961 — May 10, 2025

Carlsbad

Perry Dee Kiser, age 64 of Carlsbad, NM, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of May 10, 2025 in the home his grandfather built. He was surrounded by his loving family and pets while watching his favorite TV shows and movies.

Cremation has taken place. No service will be held.

Perry was born February 8, 1961 to Dale Orr in Carlsbad, NM. Perry would soon be adopted by his mother Melba Kiser and father Haskel “Pee Wee” Kiser, who would raise him alongside his maternal grandparents Luther and Lucille Green. Perry attended school in Carlsbad while working at Pee Wee’s Fina, making lasting friendships and teasing his future wife Suzanne by pulling her braids along the way.

Perry would leave home after graduating Carlsbad High School to join the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise and touring much of the Pacific. During his service, he would meet lifelong friend Stan Potocki of Baltimore, MD.

Perry would return to Carlsbad to marry Suzanne (“Vern” to him), his wife of 36 years. They would raise two sons, Brandon and Bret, along with countless pets, including dogs and other animals at his childhood home. Perry would go on to work for local potash companies and Jaime’s Welding.

Perry was a fan of simple things, rock and roll, and Anheuser-Busche. He enjoyed his family, his shop, his pool table, his job, and his friends. He was most proud of his stock car racing days with his brother-in-law Jon, his home, and his boys.

Perry is preceded in death by his parents, Melba Jean Kiser and Haskel Gene “Pee Wee” Kiser; grandparents: Luther Leonard Green and Lucille Etta Green; father-in-law, Warren Gene “Bud” Hardin; beloved dog Fred; countless sports cars and motorcycles, and his left big toe.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Marie Kiser; sons: Brandon Luc Kiser and Bret Logan Kiser, and many extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter of Carlsbad, NM or a cancer research foundation of your choice.
