Patricia "Patsy" Balderrama

Patricia “Patsy” Balderrama, 63, of Carlsbad passed away July 29, 2025. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2025 at Carlsbad First Assembly.

Patsy was born March 13, 1962 in Carlsbad, NM to Joaquin and Hilda (Franco) Balderrama. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1980. Patsy received a bachelor’s degree in business at NMSU. She and Nathan co-owned and operated Pecos River Oil Field Services. Patsy and Nathan were together over 20 years. They treasured their dogs and treated them like their children. Patsy loved spending time at their property in Rocksprings, Texas along with their dogs. She also cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to making over-the-top desserts, Patsy loved to cook for everyone as well as being involved in the planning and preparation of special events and activities for family and friends. She found great joy in crocheting and watching the Denver Broncos. She had quite the collection of Betty Boop items. Patsy loved attending and working at wine festivals. She had a generous and giving heart to anyone she met.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Hilda Balderrama; companion, Nathan McGee, twin infant brother and sister, Joseph and Mary.

Survivors are her brother, Eddie Balderrama and wife, Jill; sisters: Yvonne Short, Jackie Fields and Albert Elizondo, Clara Fierro and Carlos Perez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
