Pat C. McMahan, 84, of Pecos River Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at University Medical Center in Lubbock Texas.
There will be no public visitation, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Veilleux officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pat Cariker McMahan was born June 29, 1930 in Electra, Texas to Lewis Cecil and Stella Fay (Barnes) McMahan. Pat graduated from Lawton High School in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1947. He married Gloria Elizabeth Mathis in 1951. Pat received his Bachelors Degree in Bible at Abilene Christian College. He served as a minister for the churches of Christ in Tifton, Georgia and Douglas, Georgia for 7 years, 41 years in Anchorage, Alaska and one year at Southside Church of Christ in Carlsbad. Pat served on the Board of Directors for Lakeview Christian Home from 2000 thru 2010. Pat was a guide and bush pilot on a float plane in Alaska for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the time spent with the "Ole Codgers Coffee Group". Pat was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Gloria McMahan in Carlsbad, NM; three sons: Gary McMahan and wife, Karen of Spokane, Washington, Kent McMahan and wife, Sharon of Vancouver, Washington, Roger McMahan and wife, Angela of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren: Matthew McMahan and wife, Ambrosia, Patrick McMahan, Kerry Kettren and husband, Ladd, Kirsten Israel and husband, Lincoln, Mathis McMahan; great-grandson, Ladd Isaac Kettren; sister, Rosemary Paty and husband, Joe of Sweetwater, Texas; nieces: Shannon Haynes, Jennifer Davis and nephew, Cody Paty.
Honorary pallbearers are Ole Codgers Coffee Group.
