Ollie Madrid

Ollie Madrid, 74, of W. Florida Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 13, 2023 at Carlsbad Medical Center.  Cremation will take place and services will be held at a later date.  She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1967.  Ollie received a bachelor’s degree in education from NMSU and later achieved her master’s.  She was a teacher in the Carlsbad School system for many years. Ollie enjoyed reading, crocheting, crafts but most of all being with family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and one sister.

Survivors are her son, Rick Madrid; great niece raised as a daughter, Tasha Pitts-Richmond, son, Brandon Philips and daughter, Rebecca Phillips; sister, Catherine Hemby and numerous nieces and nephews.
