Ollie Fitzgerald

Ollie Fitzerald, 66, of N. Halagueno Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away September 23, 2025 at Kindred Hospital, El Paso, Texas.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Day Spring Fellowship with Pastor Russell Hoksbergen officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ollie was born August 24, 1959 in Carlsbad, NM, to Howard and Johnnie (Gholston) Fitzgerald and moved to Aspermont, Texas where he graduated from high school. Ollie returned to Carlsbad and met the love of his life, marrying Kristi Rogge September 16, 1988. He worked as a salesman with KATK Radio and later Jenkins Furniture. In 1996, Ollie began work at Magistrate Court as a court clerk and eventually became court manager. He later worked for district court before retiring. Ollie was a member of Eddy Lodge and Eastern Star. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and raising chickens but especially loved the time spent with his grandkids.

Ollie was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Johnnie Fitzgerald; grandparents Oliver and Dovie Fitzgerald; father-in-law Ron Rogge; son, Shane Fitzgerald; sisters: Shirley Terrill, Michelle Hays, and brother, Berry Hays.

Survivors are his wife of 37 years, Kristi Fitzgerald; daughter, Tiffiney Ramos and husband, Justin Ramos; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Marquez and Fiancé, Julio Rivera; grandchildren: Kallie Fitzgerald, Joah Ramos, Ryleigh Ramos, Troy Fitzgerald, and Ervey Rivera; brother, Terry Hays and wife, Kathy Hays; sister-in-law, Kimberly Rogge; mother-in-law, Judy Rogge; special friends, Lynn Masters, Kelly Smith (brother) and wife, Loni Smith, Frank Martino, Mingo Castaneda and wife, Kathy Castaneda, Russell Hoksbergen and wife, Heather Hoksbergen; along with several nieces and nephews.
