Nathan Scott McGee

Nathan Scott McGee, 55, of Carlsbad, passed away July 29, 2025. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2025 at Carlsbad First Assembly.

Nathan was born March 4, 1970 in San Bernardino, California and moved to Carlsbad as an infant. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1988. Nathan and Patsy co-owned and operated Pecos River Oil Field Services. They treasured their dogs and treated them like their children. Nathan loved spending time at their property in Rocksprings, Texas along with their dogs. He also cherished spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Nathan enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, concerts, and racing. He was preceded in death by his father, James T. McGee; companion, Patsy Balderrama; sister, Chessa McGee Aguilar; stepfather, Steve Youngerman; maternal grandparents: E.D. and Mildred Terry; paternal grandparents: Clyde and Empress McGee.

Survivors are his children: Dixie Arnoldy and husband, Chris, Cutter Burkham, Kinzey Stephens and husband, Albert; mother, Janice Terry Mashaw; grandchildren: Raelynn Arnoldy, Caysley Arnoldy, Gracie Arnoldy, Mackynna Arnoldy, Denym Arnoldy, Weston Stephens, and Wrenley Stephens; brother, Jason McGee and wife, Heather, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Honorary pallbearers are Craig Lunsford, Nick Aguilar, Jimmy Vasquez, Jose Nunez, Mike Boddy, Larry Lunsford, Scott Branson, John Orona, Todd Looney, and Charles Fannin.
