Nancy D. Ferguson

Nancy D. Ferguson, 67, of Muscatel Ave, Carlsbad, NM, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 4, 2024 at her home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Thursday, March 7, 2024 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Edward Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, NM.  A meal will follow at St. Edward Parish Hall.  Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Nancy was born May 26, 1956 in Carlsbad, NM to John and Gertrude (Fischbacher) Walterscheid.  She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1974.  Nancy received a nursing degree from NMSU-Carlsbad.   She worked as a nurse over 40 years.   Over those years, Nancy worked at Carlsbad Medical Center, Nor-Lea Medical Center in Hobbs and Lovington and the last eleven years at WIPP before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her animals, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.   Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Walterscheid and sister, Tina Walterscheid.

Survivors are her husband, Tommy Ferguson; son, Joey Maples and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Lana Greer and husband, Cody; stepdaughters: Vonda England and wife, Andrea Kemper, Paula Gonzales and husband, Daniel; grandchildren: Maddison, Chandler, Carson, Landry, Caleb, Cerena, Joshua and Jon Michael; brother, Robby Walterscheid and wife, Judy; sister, Joyce Sloan and husband, Jesse; brother, Timmy Walterscheid and wife, Shara, and numerous nieces and nephews.
