Kenneth Michael “Mike/Daddio/Papa/Big Mike” Tanner, was born March 23, 1953 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Mike passed away on May 26, 2022 at his home with family. He was 69 years old. Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 1558 with Wayne Treadway officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He was the son of Kenneth Owen Tanner ‘Slick” and Margaret “Midge” Hammett. Mike was proceeded in death by sisters: Marjorie “Sue” Evanoff and Teresa Ann Tanner; brothers: Randell Ray “Pete” Tanner, Wendall Owen Tanner and James Tanner. Mike is survived by his wife: Crystial Tanner and children: Jennifer Nickoli, Michael Tanner and wife, Misty, Sicily Powell and husband, Eric, step daughters: Marti Giddings and husband, Doug and Rhonda Newby Torres: step-sister: Julie Pettes and 12 grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mike is retiree of W.I.P.P and a Elks lodge member. Mike was a hard worker his whole life. He enjoyed many things in life, reading, motocross, outdoors, drinking beer while shooting pool or playing cornhole, and watching his favorite football team “Dallas Cowboys” Mike was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys big time!  He loved smoking cigars while listening to music. Mike loved being with friends and family. He was a friend to all, he was loved and will be missed. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
