Michael Lanahan

Michael Leo Lanahan, 50, of Wescosville PA died Tuesday August 24, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Michael battled lymphatic leukemia for 11 years with much courage and optimism. Michael was employed at Indian Valley Trucking of Souderton PA until spring of 2008. He recently moved to Carlsbad, NM where he worked in the Road Department for Eddy County. The entire family was active in the Emmaus Hornets Ice Hockey organization where Michael coached and his son Derek played goalie. Michael was an avid golfer and fisherman, a passion he shared with his son and friends. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Wanda WinderLanahan; son, Derek; mother and father Dennis and Janet Ruel; siblings, Mary Dougherty, Kathleen Castle, Daniel, Thomas; numerous nieces; nephews; in-laws; and close friends. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
