Michael Glenn Mahaffey

Michael Glenn Mahaffey, 80, of Del Rio, Texas, passed away Friday August 8, 2025 at home. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Del Rio, Texas with the memorial service to be determined at a later date.

Mike Mahaffey was born July 17, 1945 to Marvin and Geraldine (Robbins) Mahaffey in San Deigo, California. He was raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico and graduated Carlsbad High School in 1963. Mike then served in the Army National Guard for four years. Mike joined the family business “Texas Street Lumber Co.” where he worked off and on for several years before becoming the general manager in 1987. After 31 years of working as general manager. Mike retired to Del Rio, Texas. Mike loved the outdoors and was always ready to go hunting or fishing. He traveled all over just to find a lake or river for his next big catch. Mike married his favorite fishing partner, Karol, on September 8, 2003 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Meek. He is survived by wife Karol Mahaffey; son Tyson Mahaffey and wife Lesli of Seguin, Texas; daughter Jessica and husband Jeremy Dowdy of Carlsbad, New Mexico; grandchildren Megan, Jake and Will Gray Mahaffey of Seguin, Texas; Hunter and Kaylee Dowdy of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sister Linda “aka Shorty” and husband Terry Eaton of Granbury, Texas; including several nieces and nephews
