Melissa "Lisa" Lewis

Melissa “Lisa” Gail Lewis passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of December 18, 2025. She was asleep and felt no pain as she awoke in the presence of her Lord and Savior, reunited with her beloved family who went before her: her mother, Eddie Jo Ward; her father, John Henry Ward; her brother, Wesley Ward; his wife, Claudette Ward; and her older sister, Joy Weaver. She was also reunited with her first husband, Lonnie Paul Dunn.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Phillip Price. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge the arrangements.

Lisa had an extraordinary way of expanding her heart without limits. She adopted every friend her children ever brought home, and countless Thanksgivings and Christmases were spent surrounded by family, friends, and sometimes complete strangers who would have otherwise been alone. If you needed a place to belong, Lisa made room for you. She loved people deeply, and she made sure they always knew it.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Lewis; son, Zachary Lewis; daughters, Charay Dunn; Jordan Lewis-Sotelo and husband Emilio “Mo” Sotelo; two grandsons, Colton Lewis and Zayden Sotelo; sister, Lynna and husband Britt McMillan; father-in-law, Don Lewis and wife, Sue; sisters-in-law, Debbie and husband Ted Nombrana; Ruth and husband Mark Gregory; Kaye and husband Dan Gibson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends

Pallbearers will be Chance McMillan, Cayson McMillan, John Shelton, Cody Boyd, Eloy Lopez Sr., Eloy Lopez Jr., Ez Lopez, Xander Cole
