Melinda G. Carrasco

Melinda G. Carrasco, 57, past resident of Carlsbad, NM passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, followed by a vigil, 6:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.  Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Melinda was born August 30, 1966 in Carlsbad, NM to Felix and Catalina (Galindo) Carrasco. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1984.  After receiving a paralegal degree from Phoenix Community College, Melinda worked for several law firms in Phoenix.  In 1995, Melinda moved to Albuquerque to begin a new career within the medical field as an MRI technician. She enjoyed spending time with her parents and was immensely proud of her son, Dennis. Her fifteen-minute trips to the store usually turned into hours because she forgot half the items on her list or she was busy making new friends on every isle. Melinda was great at starting conversations; her voice was one of her greatest blessings.   Though her conversations will be greatly missed, she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents; brother, Mario Carrasco, Sr. and nephew, Christopher Lee Moreno.
