Melba Statham

Obituary Melba Statham, 92, of Legion Ave., Carlsbad, NM, passed away September 6, 2020 at her home. Visitation will be 4 PM 7 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Melba was born April 21, 1928 in Greenwood, Arkansas to John and Netti (Roberts) Clark. She married Hubert H. Statham April 28, 1955 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and they moved to Carlsbad the following year. Melba took great pride in raising her children. She loved learning and teaching herself new things. Melbas hobbies included cooking, sewing, crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles and watching game shows but being with her family was the absolute most important. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert H. Statham; son, Alan Blevins; daughters: Louise Sneed and Carolyn Sue Statham; great-granddaughter, Alexandria Ahl; 6 sisters and 7 brothers. Survivors are her children: Sandra Klassen and husband, Robert, Sharon Kiles, Terry Statham and wife, Cheryl, Pam Fierro and husband, Adam,Tina Statham, Jacque Statham and Robert McCloud; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
