Mary Lou Danielson, 82, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, September 8, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Jarek Nowacki officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Lou was born April 12, 1943 in Hartford, Connecticut to John and Anne (Krist) Uzdarwin. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Uzdarwin.
Mary Lou is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Raymond Danielson; sons: Thomas Danielson, Eric Danielson, Gregory Danielson and wife, Julie; daughters: Amy Paz and husband, David, Julie Pearson and husband, Timothy; grandchildren: Molly, Hannah, Zachary, DJ, Megan, Taylor, Benjamin, Arturo, Elijah, Hayleigh, Catherine, David, James, Jacob, Clare and 14 great grandchildren; siblings: Patricia Pavlik, Jack Uzdarwin and wife, Cheryl, Karen Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou walked in faith and taught her children to love. Her house was always welcoming and many of her children's friends came to call her "Mom". Family meals often showed her Lithuanian roots from easter egg fights to kugelis. She loved her children, the Rosary and homemade cheesecake. And was the best grandma. Mary Lou also loved to bake and play scrabble.
Mary Lou never let any of her family leave without a blessing. God's peace be with you. May His angels watch over you. May God hold you in the palm of His hand and keep you safe. Love you love you. Shalom.
