Mary Devine

Mary M. Devine, 83, went to be with her Lord, January 11, 2010 in Northglenn, Colorado. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, January 18, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Blodgett Street Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Devine, Pastor David Prell and Pastor Gary Wolfe officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mary M. Devine was born December 27, 1926 in Central City, Kentucky to Joshua Banks and Lola Belle (Wells) Warman. She married Burnis L. Devine on May 18, 1946 in Central City, Kentucky. Mary taught VBS and Sunday School at her church for many years. She was devoted to her family and was the glue that held the family together. Mary and Burnis moved to Carlsbad in 1991. They were members of Blodgett Street Baptist Church and later Standpipe Road Baptist Church. Mary was a very giving person and active in her church throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Seth T. Mallory; brothers: Merion Warman, Herman Warman and sister, Frances Devine. Survivors include her husband, Burnis Devine of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Mary Marcelle Chowning and husband, Carl of Northglenn, CO, Vanessa Potter and husband, Billy of Carlsbad, NM; two sons: Matthew Owen Devine and wife, Janis of Spanaway, WA, Mark Evan Devine and wife, Sandra of Carlsbad, NM, six grandchildren: Michael Chowning, Edward Chowning, John Chowning, Rachel Devine, Luke Devine and Dana Gendron; two great-grandchildren, Lee Chowning and Morgan Chowning; sister, Margie Reed of Merion, Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Chowning, Edward Chowning, John Chowning, Luke Devine, Rachel Devine, Dana Gendron and Bobby Fuller. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons, P.O.
