Mario Serrano Anaya passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born August 15, 1968, to Baudelio Serrano Lujan and Marcela Ramos Estrada in Ojinaga, Chihuahua Mexico. He lived his young life in Canana Ancha, he was the youngest of his siblings. While in Canana Ancha, he helped support his family by doing farm and agricultural work and credited his work ethic, generosity and “family first” motto from his Tio Santos. At the of age 15, he came to live in the United States. He worked all sorts of jobs, which he used as a foundation to develop skills which he would later use in his success. His one unaccomplished dream had been to open his own restaurant; destiny had a different plan. Little did he know that the big truck he saw driving down the road thinking to himself, “I want one of those,” would be one of his greatest achievements in life. In 2015, he began his entrepreneurship and Compas Valve Repair & Roustabout Service came to life. The business grew slowly, survived hardship, and gave many the opportunity to learn a new trade or provide for their families. Mario found peace in sitting amongst his small farm animals, while his passion for roosters is what he was well-known for. He loved his “chili con carne” roosters. Galleros will miss his presence. Mario is preceded in death by his parents Baudelio & Marcela, brother Baudilo. He is survived by his wife, Soila; son, Mario Serrano Anaya; daughter, Monica Ruiz (Raymond Urbina); his granddaughters, Milagro, Marcela, Mia, Marcelina, and baby Ramon; brother, Dolores and Tere Serrano (Mexico); Sister Maria and Javier Madrid (Mexico); compadres, Ismael and Martina Nores and family; Higinio and Linda Sonora and family; his beloved son Higinio (Jr.) Sonora and family; many nieces and nephews; and cousins in Carlsbad, Odessa, and Mexico whom he considered all like siblings. He will be profoundly missed and will be remembered as a man with a huge heart. He found happiness making sure his family and friends were all okay. Thank you to all who helped him strive and succeed and thank you all who worked with or for him, he never took any of your support for granted. Thank you all who shared in his joy, friendship, and life. Future gatherings on the weekends, eating well-prepared food and enjoying drinks, will forever have an empty seat. “Échale ganas”. A Mass to be held in Mexico at a future date.
