Maria Mendoza

Maria Mendoza, 61, passed away August 20, 2025 at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, NM.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at San Jose Catholic Church, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Maria was born on September 15, 1963 to Cruz and Refugio Hernandez in Lomas, Mexico.

Maria married Juan Mendoza May 19, 1981. They moved to Carlsbad in 2003. Maria enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking for her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Juan Mendoza; granddaughter, Diseree Bradshaw; brothers, Gustavo Hernandez and Nicholas Hernandez.

Maria is survived by her son, Sal Mendoza and wife, Cynthia; daughter, Anna Mendoza and Lorenzo Ruiz; son, Chris Mendoza and wife, Ruby; grandchildren, Johnny Mendoza, Danielle Garcia, Dominique Mendoza, Dion Bradshaw, Marissa Mendoza and Aaron Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Zayden, Joseph, Kinlynn, Khelani, Michael, Marcos, Isabella and D.J.; brothers, Mario Hernandez, Jorge Hernandez; sister, Maggie Hernandez; numerous nieces and nephews.
