Manuel "Freddy" Lopez

Manuel “Freddy” Lopez, 60, of N. 9th Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away January 17, 2022 at Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM. Liturgy outside the Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at San Jose Catholic Church with Deacon Melvin Balderrama officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Manuel “Freddy” Lopez was born March 11, 1961 in Carlsbad, NM to Manuel and Elizabeth (Navarrette) Lopez, Sr. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1979. Freddy served in the Army National Guard several years. He worked as a truck driver most of his life. Freddy worked for several companies during his career including Constructors, Inc., Waste Management and TCB Oil Field Services. He enjoyed cooking, especially outside and riding his Harley. Freddy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stevie Lopez.
Survivors are his daughter, Clarissa Methola and husband, Billy; stepson, Allen Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez and wife, Chelsie, Michael Sanchez and wife, Rosa; grandchildren: Nathan Methola, Aubrey Methola, Andrea Methola, Allen Sanchez, Jr., Chloe Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez, Jr., Maliyah Sanchez, Mariah Sanchez, Marek Sanchez, Isabel Sanchez and Nora Sanchez; great-grandchildren: Kaylani and Liam; sister, Lillian Ramirez and husband, Larry; brothers: Manny Lopez and wife, Melissa, Jessie Lopez and wife, Monica, Benny Lopez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Manny Lopez, Jessie Lopez, Abel Castillo, Manuel Sanchez, Allen Sanchez, Billy Methola, Benny Lopez and Mario Martinez.
