Obituary Manuel Carrasco Sillas, 89, entered the gates of Heaven on July 31, 2020 passing at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be 2 PM 7 PM, Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be limited to 30 people in the chapel at a time and facial coverings are required. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, August 10, 2020 at Santa Catarina Cemetery with Deacon Manuel Chavez officiating. Pallbearers will be Joshua Ramirez, Brandon, Aurelio Sillas, Devin Lopez, Albert Sillas, Ryan Martinez, Jacob Martinez and James Martinez. Manuel was born March 12, 1931 to the late Luis & Felipa Sillas. He attended San Jose Catholic School and graduated from Carlsbad High School. He went on to serve his country through the Army National Guard and was dedicated to his floor installation career. Manuel married the love of his life, Criseldaand spent 64 memorable years together."So Godcreated man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them ". Gen. 1:27 He began devoting his life to serving the Lord at age eight as an altar server at San Jose Catholic Church. Manuel was a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Christmas Anonymous and Eucharist Ministry and was loyal assisting at funerals and visiting the sick. "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master". Matt. 25:23 What an amazing and fruitful life he lived as a Servant of God and the many blessings imparted to him and freely given in return. Hun, Dad, Gramps, Abuelito will definitely be missed and we will always carry his abundant love forever in our hearts. We Love You! He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Sillas, Faye Rodriguez, Mary Chavez; brothers, Reynaldo, Seferino, Herman and Louie Sillas, Jr. Manuel is survived by his wife, Criselda; children: Bessie Casillas and husband, Richard, Aurelio Sillas and wife, Rita, Celina Martinez and husband, Thomas, Albert Sillas and Melissa Ramirez and husband, David; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Yaya Chavez and numerous nieces and nephews. and their children and spouses, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
