March 10, 1924 — March 28, 2024

Carlsbad, New Mexico

Macario G. Tobar, 100, of Carlsbad, NM passed away in Lubbock, TX on March 28, 2024. Macario was born on March 10, 1924, in Sweetwater, TX.

Cremation has taken place, and services will be held at a later date.

Macario grew up in west Texas, and worked as a farmhand until he enlisted in the United States Army. He faithfully and honorably served his country for 2.5 years during WWII, where he earned multiple medals including a purple heart. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Isabel Carrasco, on April 3, 1948, in Carlsbad, NM. During the early 1950’s, he turned his life towards God, joining the Jehovah’s Witness Church. He continued studying the Bible, and he was baptized in 1960. He was a faithful follower, sharing the love of Christ with those around him. Over the years, he worked for the Sunlight Bakery and Wholesome Bakery, and then he worked in safety and maintenance at the N-REN ammonia mining plant, where he retired from.

Macario enjoyed fishing, baseball, and boxing. His favorite memory was the day he married Isabel, and his most treasured accomplishment was that with every passing year, his life kept getting better and better. Macario left a legacy in the hearts of all his family, of love and perseverance through God. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
