Lydia "Lilly" Bustamante Acedo

Lydia “Lilly” Bustamante Acedo, 89, of Ortega Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away February 5, 2026 at her daughter’s home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at San Jose Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lilly was born June 1, 1936 in Loving, NM to Fermine and Anita (Bustamante) Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Alfredo Bustamante; brother, Bonifacio Bustamante; sisters: Esperanza Bustamante, Eva Navarrette, Hortensia Fajardo, Elia Castaneda, and grandson, Mark Florez.

Survivors are her children: Abel Bustamante and wife, Betty, Sobyda Sosa and husband, Joe Manuel, Michael B. Hernandez, Lydia Teresa Valenzuela, Ray Valenzuela, Rojelio “Roy” Valenzuela, Ezra Bustamante, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
