Lucille Larez Olivas, 67, of Del Rio Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away April 3, 2024 at her home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, April 15, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at San Jose Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating.  Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.   Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lucille was born July 29, 1956 in Carlsbad, NM to Antonio and Lucia (Alvarado) Larez.  She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1975 and received an associates degree in secretarial administration from NMSU-Carlsbad. Lucille worked as an administrative secretary for the warden for many years. She loved to play bingo and spend time with her grandchildren.  Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luis Olivas; grandson, Darryous Olivas; sisters: Alice Huereque, Mary Castillo; brothers: Antonio Larez, Jr., and Juan Larez.

Survivors are her children: Laura Olivas, Leticia Williams and husband, Bob, Luis Olivas and wife, Tona, Luz Olivas Tatum; step-daughter, Yesenia Olivas; grandchildren; Luke, Larissa, Niko, Deja, Claire, Justin, Elena, Jade, Jameya, Rhonica, Chyane, Xavier, Preston Jr., Preslyn, Alex, Audrey, and Evanjelina; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert Larez, David Larez; sisters: Christina Mesquita, Dora Monte, Dolores Garcia, Esperanza Gonzalez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Elena Navarro, Rhonica Olivas, Xavier Olivas, Justin Sanchez, Preston Tatum, Jr., Jameya Dominguez, Claire McKenna, and Jade Dominguez.
