Louise Greene

Louise Greene, 90, of Walker Farm Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away January 5, 2026 at Goodlife Assisted Living. Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2026 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herb Gage officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Louise was born February 20, 1935 in Carlsbad, NM, to Clarence Earl and Eva Lynn (Loftis) Teague. She served as a probate judge for several years and was elected county treasurer where she served until retiring after 22 years of total service to Eddy County. Louise was involved in senior Olympics and received numerous medals from her shooting competition. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, upholstering, sewing, and line dancing. Louise was always on the go, never sitting still, still mowing her yard at 90 years old. During the last several months of her life, she enjoyed her friendship at Goodlife with Michelle Baker. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons: Bobby Bailey and Ricky Bailey; sisters: Frances “Oleta” Brannen and Helen “Tootsie” Welch.

Survivors are her children: Marvin Walker and wife, Debbie, Steve Mervin Walker and wife, Tina, Billy Walker and wife, Charla, Phyllis Sanders and husband, Darrell, Juanita Bailey and husband, Rick, Donna Menuey and husband, Randy, and Don Greene and wife, Christina; grandchildren: Tiffany Yerby, Cole Walker, Lisa Messer, Wendell Walker, Tessa Telles, Missy Carter, Leeah Risher, Joseph Kidd, Jacob Kidd, Aaron Kidd, Justin Bailey, James Bailey, Will Bennett, Jace Bennett, Clay Menuey, Logan Menuey, and Sebastian Greene; 63 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Walker, Justin Bailey, Cole Walker, Will Bennett, James Bailey, Jacob Kidd, Aaron Kidd, Joseph Kidd, Jace Bennett.
