Survived by daughters Symphony Jean Carlson and Serenade Ellara Gooch, parents Tom and Myra Carlson, and sister Lori Carlson and her children, Annika, Adisyn, Alerick, and Asher.
Loni was very proud of her family. She loved her daughters and was very sensitive to their emotions. She would fiercely protect them in all circumstances. She was very close to her parents and was glad to settle in her hometown, Carlsbad, where her parents live. On Christmas Day in 1982, Myra carried her around inside her belly, waiting until the next day to deliver her into the world. She and her dad Tom adored one another; she called him an Ox because he is so strong and wonderful and dependable. Her grandparents, Walter and Tommie Carlson, also lived in Carlsbad and, when they were little, Loni and Lori would make “soft-dirt” mud pies at their house. When she was young, she skipped everywhere she went.
Loni loved the outdoors, going to the river and camping. She said that the river was healing and good for her soul. She was even known to swim naked. Ohhh! She loved to go skiing on the Larson ski boat on the river. Her dad would be at work, and plan to take the boat out. Everyone would come and put the boat on the river, ski, eat and laugh. They went out almost every day in the summers.
Loni was incredibly intelligent. She got both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from ENMU. She could dominate in any professional situation. She worked as an accountant for a local gas company.
She was very giving and would happily do without to ensure that someone else had what they needed. Loni was funny, often silly. Once she threw a superman snow cone on her mom to end an argument; the snow cone went everywhere and everyone laughed, lightening the moment. She was always comfortable to be around and was willing to do whatever someone else wanted. She was very empathetic and gave hugs and counsel to help people feel better.
Loni was a personality all her own. She was well-loved and will be sorely missed.
