Kysiah was born April 10, 2006, to Anna Alirez and Keith Lujan. In his short time here, he wasted no time making his way into the hearts of the people in his life. Since birth, he was all over the place running on 100. Growing up, he spent a lot of time at Grandma and Grandpa’s house playing Nerf guns, cars, and games with his siblings and cousins. Kysiah was a master of playing by his rules, not the game’s rules.

As a student-athlete, Kysiah participated in basketball and track & field, but he loved the great game of football. He had the grit, smarts, and fearlessness that any coach would love to have in his players. Kysiah played Little Cavemen football in his younger years, then proudly became a Loving Falcon in his 7th grade year. In addition to loving the game, he loved being coached by his dad and playing alongside his brother, Kalob. As a Falcon, he excelled as a linebacker, following in his dad’s footsteps. Kysiah was a ferocious defender that played bigger than guys that were physically bigger than he was. His performance on the field earned him All-District and All-State honors as well as selection to the 2023 NMHSCA All-Star Game.

After graduating from Loving High School as a member of the Class of 2024, Kysiah helped and learned from his dad at Dirty Bird Auto before gaining employment at Mesa Solutions where he worked as a compressor mechanic. In his short time there, he thrived and was constantly learning. Kysiah would come home and share stories and videos of everything he was doing and learning at work. He loved working with his crew, and they loved him. A lot of the older guys at work reminded him of his dad with their military and mechanical backgrounds. He was making great impressions on the leadership at Mesa and aspired to become one of their Master Mechanics. We’ll never know where or how high that would have taken him, but he put 100% into the things he loved, so the sky was the limit.

Kysiah loved out loud and never worried about what people thought or said about it. He loved hugging on his momma and loved trying to show off his muscles to his dad. He also loved being around children and babies. Kysiah loved Gio’s little brothers like they were his own and considered the Ruiz house his second home. He loved Edgar’s daughter and was looking forward to being her honorary uncle. He enjoyed going to the gym and playing basketball at the Rec. Kysiah loved spending time with his family and giving his brother and sister a hard time. He also loved spending time with “The Boys” and talking on the phone with CJ, Karyn, and Jocelyn.

Kysiah was preceded in death by his grandfather, Serapio Parraz; his grandmother, Beatrice Alirez; his uncles, Ronnie Lujan and Joshua Castro; and his great-grandparents, Rodolfo and Celestina Galindo.

Kysiah is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, parents, Keith and Anna Lujan; siblings, Kalob and Amaya Lujan; grandparents, Alicia Parraz and Ernest Alirez; paternal relatives: uncle, Justin Parraz and wife, Cristal with cousins Justin and Joseph; aunt, Alexandria Labato and husband, Julio with cousins Julio Jr., Elijah and Aryana; uncles: Anthony Lujan and Joel Parraz and family; maternal relatives: aunt, Angela Granado and husband Lawrence, with cousins Lawrence Jr., Leon, Anthony, Laith, Krista, Kayla and their families. Uncle, Jamie Grijalva with cousins Isiah and Jordis; aunt, Vanessa Alirez.

Kysiah will be remembered for his magnetic, carefree, fun-loving, dramatic, and kind personality. His memory will be cherished by all who loved him, and his presence will be deeply missed by his family.
