Katherine Nymeyer

Katherine Nymeyer, 85, former resident, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 in Warsaw, Indiana.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Tarvin officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Katherine was born May 1, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to Everett and Edna (Cox) Pointer. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1958 and attended NMSU-C. Kathy married Elvin Skaggs June 11, 1958 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. After Elvin passed away in 1990, Kathy married Robert Dean Nymeyer May 7, 1992. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Kathy was past treasurer at Happy Valley Baptist Church and past treasurer of the Classic Tractor Club. She enjoyed the church choir as well as singing solos at church, “The Old Rugged Cross” is her favorite hymn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Hershel E. Skaggs; second husband, Robert Dean Nymeyer; son, Hershel E. Skaggs, II; sister: Nancy Jeanine Pointer, and brother, Gerald Dermont Pointer.

Survivors are her daughters: Terri Mendes, Deb Torres and husband, Albert; sons: Frank Nymeyer and wife, Carla, Earl Nymeyer and wife, Julie; grandchildren: Bethany Schuler and husband, Steve, Adam Harrell and Jayla Fehr, Shaina Rockefeller and husband, Eric, Michelle Carpenter and husband, Caleb, Josh Harrell, Sean Torres and wife, Hannah, Jose Torres and wife, Carmen, Felecita Orona, Christy Thomas and Paul Sheldon, Charles Thomas and wife, Ashley, Sarah Brunell and husband, Mike, Eli Nymeyer and wife, Jennifer, Sherrie Nymeyer and Jeremy Byrd, Elizabeth Boone and husband, Brandon, Malinda Patterson and husband, Jubel, Mandy Campbell and husband, David, Kristopher Mitchell and wife, Jamie; 39 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
